Kids Activities

Hudson decided to climb out of his pack n play (the bed where he sleeps) at 16 1/2 months old. One of the reasons why I've had him in the pack and play to sleep was so he couldn't climb out, figuring it would be less dangerous than climbing out of a crib with sides that are much higher in the air. I can't believe how strong he is, and what a rascal!

I also caught him one day with his face down in Jasper's water bowl, drinking the water! He must have been pretty thirsty, poor guy. I haven't seen him do that again.

Every morning Hudson loves to get up in the chair to play the keyboard. He plays the keys and also turns on music to go with it. For some reason he always hits the buttons for disco music, and then bounces up and down to the beat. Every morning we get to hear disco music :)

Both Annalise and Hudson are starting to sing now. Annalise can sing "Jesus loves me" and "Twinkle, Twinkle little star." Hudson hums a lot now at night time as he falls asleep and also first thing in the morning as he is waking up. It is so sweet to hear their little voices singing.

Birthday Celebrations

Hudson turned one years old this July and we celebrated his birthday in Mississippi while visiting relatives.

Annalise turned 3 years old this November, and we had a small family party for her and made pizzas. She is growing to be so tall! All of her 2T clothes are too short or small for her, so I had fun going to Savers and picking out cute 3T outfits for her.

Annalise's Art and Play

The first picture is Annalise :)

The second one is a picture of daddy, with legs and feet.

Annalise and I built a leggo house with a front and back door and garden on the rooftop, and it even has room for a horse!

Fall Fun

For halloween this year we decided to celebrate with friends and take our kids trick-or-treating for the first time in the neighborhood we used to live in. I dressed Annalise up as Laura Ingalls Wilder in a prairie dress with bloomers. I used to wear it when I was little as a regular, everyday outfit little girls wore in the 70's. Hudson was dressed as a construction worker with overalls, lots of warm plaid, a hammer in his tool loop and his carhart hat. Jeremy walked with Annalise and she was so cute running along with all the other little kids and running around with her little candy basket. I carried Hudson around and tried to keep us both warm. It was cold out, but we weren't out for long.

At home I had a couple pumpkins from a patch we had gone to with family. Instead of making lanterns with scary faces out of them I cooked them instead. We had alot of pumpkin soup, pumpkin breads and bars this fall, it was yummy :)

I will add some pictures of the kids later when I am at the computer again.

Hello

It's been so long since I've written a new blog post or anything for that matter, that I am just writing something now. I went to a ladies retreat about a month and half ago and spent some time journaling and dreaming. Jeremy and I started taking Chinese lessons again in September and we have been relearning all that we had learned in 2008, using a different curriculum with our new teacher in Rochester. We are very excited about this and hope to gain full fluency in the language, but lately I have realized that in order for this request or goal to be honored and come to pass I need to remember to put my family first. My new goal is to spend more time investing in the lives of my husband and our children, and then they will be far more happier. We may then discover more stress-free times to study our Chinese and gain more fluency. I need to be content with going at a slower pace, and realize that maybe this time around in the learning process I can learn more thoroughly instead of a frantic, rush pace. That's all for now. I hope to blog more in future days, but I can't promise anything fancy :)
